Gmail
I decided that I’ve relied too much on Gmail being available 100% of the time. I’m currently in the process of copying all my mail over to my IMAP server. The only problem with this process is that Gmail seems to be limiting the number of emails I can grab over POP3 at any one time to a small pittance (about 100). So far I’ve grabbed about two months of emails (Jul – Aug 2004) which has worked out to about 6,000 individual emails. Unfortunantly, at 100 per session … it is taking a while. I guess it is better than having to ‘forward’ each message manually.
